A Laboratory of Artistic Collaboration
A Laboratory of Artistic Collaboration
transformative arts business
This program offers aspiring artists and entrepreneurs unique opportunities to develop creativity, business acumen, collaboration, and cultural relevance.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Transformative Art Business (TAB) is an innovative and dynamic arts business program that seeks to empower artists by helping them understand the various elements involved in consolidating and promoting their creative practices as artists and entrepreneurs.
We believe artists and creative entrepreneurs should make a dignified living out of their practices and support them in doing so.
Open House Events
Our spaces are creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and celebration.
We believe hosting intentional community spaces is paramount to moving the Creative Economy conversation forward. Arts.Co.Lab produced and hosted two Open House events (June ‘22 and April ‘23) and one Artist Panel (June ‘23), creating a space for artists’ empowerment and engagement. During these events, artists can pitch their work, sell their artwork, engage in new collaborations, expand their networks, generate client and collaboration leads, develop work samples through performances, and have professional headshots taken.
These are the participants of our last Open House ‘23 at the Bayview Opera House:
- Africa C. Williams
- Benjamin Baker
- Isa Garcia
- Jibril Alvarez
- Jasmine Liang
- Joseph Rubit

INSTITUTIONAL PARTNER
Our commitment to equity and accessibility has opened the need to create partnerships with Cultural Centers and Direct Service organizations and institutions to cater our content to their communities’ specific needs and goals.
Through a collaborative effort with esteemed community partners, including Bayview Opera House, the Dreamkeeper Initiative, and The San Francisco Office of Economic and Work Developed, TAB aims to create an enriching environment for artists to explore new avenues within their artistic journey while also gaining valuable entrepreneurial skills.
By participating in TAB, participants benefit from coaching advice, and also gain exposure to diverse artistic communities and opportunities for networking.

Our content goals
Our community effort was created as a response to the challenges of gentrification and the health crisis of 2020, therefore, all our content is an iterative process, meaning that we seek to understand the needs of our students and improve it better every new time we put a cohort together. These are the principles by which we develop our content:
